About GOTCHA

GOTCHA stands for Global Oversight for Transactions, Compliance, and High-risk Analysis. It is a patent-pending strategic intelligence system that combines rigorous analysis, multi-perspective human insight and a deliberate satirical layer to reveal the blind spots conventional checks miss. It turns complex questions into actionable, weighted insight in 24 to 72 hours.

GOTCHA and ASK GOTCHA are trading names of ThePaymaster Ltd, company number 15991850, registered at 167-169 The Fifth Floor, Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF. ThePaymaster operates a high-value paymaster platform and built GOTCHA to protect its own transactions before offering it to clients.

GOTCHA has been accepted into the Financial Conduct Authority's Digital Sandbox. That is a recognition of the system's innovation potential and a space to develop it alongside the regulator; it is not an FCA authorisation of GOTCHA as a regulated service. ThePaymaster's own regulatory position is set out on our Regulatory Framework page.

Traditional options are either shallow automated checks or slow, expensive due diligence. GOTCHA builds a structured intelligence corpus about your counterparty, puts it in front of a 12-Persona Jury of analytical perspectives, applies the relevant Strategic Lenses from a library of 31, weights the findings through Gravitational Sorting, challenges every conclusion in a Socratic Review and then has a bespoke Magnificent 7 team deliver insight for your specific purpose. It captures human factors as well as hard data, in days rather than weeks, at a fraction of the cost of a traditional investigation.

No. The system is patent-pending and technology-driven, but during the current beta human analysts remain in the loop on every report, which is why we publish turnaround as 24 to 72 hours and may pause new orders when weekly capacity is reached.

The Counterparty Risk Report

Every GOTCHA report is examined by twelve analytical perspectives: the Financial Analyst, Operations Expert, Compliance Officer, Cultural Anthropologist, Strategic Planner, Network Mapper, Innovation Scout, Reputation Guardian, Crisis Simulator, Customer Advocate, Supply Chain Specialist and the Contrarian, who deliberately challenges the consensus. Together they cover every dimension of counterparty risk before the deeper, targeted work begins.

They are specialised analytical frameworks that are switched on selectively depending on your context. They group into market and competitive dynamics, technological and innovation factors, regulatory and compliance dimensions, operational and implementation factors, strategic and structural elements, human and cultural dimensions, and secondary or long-term effects such as resilience to low-probability, high-impact events. The full set can be activated as the GOTCHA Edge Edition add-on.

For each report we assemble a unique team of seven specialised analytical personas, chosen for your specific purpose, subject and context, for example The Deal Detective for financial inconsistencies, The Culture Codebreaker for organisational values or The Network Navigator for hidden relationships. Think of them as a special forces team put together for your mission.

Each report closes with a satirical epilogue featuring an Anti-Magnificent 7, a bespoke cast of saboteurs built to expose the exact blind spots in your situation. It is an analytical tool, not decoration: humour makes uncomfortable truths easier to consider, lets assumptions be challenged without defensiveness and makes the key insights far more memorable.

An Executive Summary with a traffic-light risk rating, a Success-Risk Matrix and Contradiction Map, the 12-Persona Jury analysis, the Strategic Lenses selected for your case, Gravitational Sorting results showing which factors matter most, your Magnificent 7 insights, action recommendations ranked by impact and urgency, and the satirical epilogue. Everything passes through a Final Synthesis so it reads as decision-ready intelligence rather than raw analysis.

An individual, an organisation, or both together. A single report can cover up to three Subjects, and you can add your own organisation as a Subject through the Client Context Compatibility Layer so the analysis also shows how well the two sides fit.

Yes. Where the Subject will cooperate, for instance an entrepreneur seeking investment or a prospective buyer of high-value property, GOTCHA can incorporate full KYC and AML verification through ThePaymaster's Sumsub platform. Email info@askgotcha.ai to arrange this.

Through ThePaymaster, GOTCHA has already produced more than thirty internal reports. Among the results: an individual operating under an alias who was wanted in the United States for a $130 million wire fraud, identified before a £35 million deal completed; a counterparty who had passed a Sumsub KYC check but had forged proof of funds; and a counterparty with full control of their account who appeared to be attempting to use client funds inappropriately.

Add-ons: Contract Analysis, Document Integrity and Edge Edition

An optional module, also available on its own, in which you upload a contract and tell us its governing jurisdiction, what it is meant to accomplish, your concerns, what you know about the counterparty and where the deal stands. GOTCHA analyses the document and stress-tests it from multiple perspectives so you see the exposures before you sign.

A stand-alone or add-on review of a document whose authenticity you doubt, such as a SWIFT or wire confirmation, bank statement, identity or credential document, corporate record, official letter, invoice or a contract where only authenticity is in question. You tell us who supposedly issued it, what it is being used to prove, how you received it and what raised your suspicions, and we assess its integrity.

An upgrade that activates the full library of 31 Strategic Lenses on your report rather than only the lenses selected for your context, for the deepest available analysis.

The Strategic White Paper System

A service that turns your hunch or question into an authoritative, research-backed white paper in 24 to 72 hours. Rather than ghostwriting, we ghost-solve: the same 12-Persona Jury and Magnificent 7 frameworks do the research and multi-perspective analysis, then we shape it into a narrative that positions your organisation as a thought leader.

Very little. Share your hunch or question, say who should care and why, state the goal (thought leadership, sales support, education or something else), flag anything to avoid or emphasise, and optionally suggest a title, record a short voice note or upload background material. No detailed brief is required.

The Draft White Paper (£999.99) is a complete, research-backed document ready for your own branding and design. The Premium edition (from £1,999.99) is fully branded and designed by us, ready to publish.

One paper becomes the keystone of a content ecosystem: blog posts, social campaigns, sales enablement, podcasts and webinars. Our research in the White Gold paper puts the return of a single strategic white paper at three to five times that of traditional marketing spend, and The Alchemist's Playbook sets out practical ways to repurpose it. All three papers in our trilogy, with companion podcasts, are on the Strategic White Paper System page.

Ordering, Timing and Delivery

Use the Ask GOTCHA order form. It has six sections, of which the first four are core and the last two optional, and takes around 15 to 20 minutes to complete thoroughly. Have any relevant documents about your Subjects ready to upload. You can save your progress with Save and Resume and come back within 30 days.

Counterparty risk reports are delivered in 24 to 72 hours and white papers in 24 to 72 hours, subject to capacity. During the beta human analysts remain in the loop, slots are limited each week and we may pause new orders when capacity peaks.

Supporting documents are accepted as PDF, up to 20 MB each and up to five files per upload field. You can also attach a short voice-note briefing if you would rather speak than type.

Your information is analysed through the GOTCHA process described above and your report is delivered to the email address on the order. If anything in your brief needs clarifying, we will contact you first.

Data, Confidentiality and Reliance

Information you submit is used solely to produce your GOTCHA analysis and is processed in line with our GDPR Data Privacy Notice, which you confirm when ordering. Uploaded documents are stored securely and are accessible only to the team working on your report. Our Privacy Policy and Trust & Security Policy set out the detail.

No. Every order includes a Reliance Disclaimer which you must read and accept. A GOTCHA report is strategic intelligence to inform your own decision-making; it is not legal, financial, investment or professional advice and does not replace advice from a qualified adviser or formal due diligence where that is required.

You receive full intellectual property and usage rights in the content of your white paper and report. ThePaymaster Ltd retains ownership of the underlying GOTCHA system, frameworks and methodology, as described in our Intellectual Property Statement and User Agreement.

A standard GOTCHA report is produced from available information and does not involve contacting the Subject. The exception is the optional KYC and AML verification, which by its nature requires the Subject's cooperation.
